A downloadable game

Omega Patrol is a hack for John Harper's Danger Patrol, a rules-list, collaborative story game of high adventure in a mutant-filled weird apocalypse. Taking cues from classic media such as Gamma World, the Fallout series, and movies such as Mad Max and the Omega Man, the GM and players can be as grounded or as gonzo as they want.

Omega Patrol builds on classic DP components for very fast character creation (really just a few minutes) and play. It adds optional rules for mutations, Interludes, and vehicle combat (including vehicle cards for new bonuses and powers!). It also provides additional resources to flesh out your wacky post-apocalypse, including tables for scene and threat generation (inspired by Pocket Danger Patrol and Lasers & Feelings), factions, tech levels, and more.

Update! May 12, 2021: updated the layout to improve the format for readability and fixed several typos and technical errors (more remain, I'm sure). Also added a "Loot" system for those that want to track financial rewards.

another great hack to play.

By the way, would you have somewhere on your hard drive the hacks from Gremins legion ?

Hi, thanks for the message! I haven't heard about Gremins legion. Is that a RPG setting?

https://rpggeek.com/rpgpublisher/28271/gremlin-legions

it's a game designer. Check his danger patrol hack. They should be available on archive.org if the links are dead.

By the way, i'm trying to design a hack:omehow compatible with bitd.

Aha, thank. I hadn't found him on RPG Geek before. I did search around for old Danger Patrol hacks and found some that were on storygames before it shut down. Most of what I found were for the Pocket Danger Patrol rules though. I will definitely check out his work.

I have another hack I'm about to finish tentatively called "Dungeon Patrol" (not very original, I know). That will likely be the last one I post.

I have written a complete hack for Blades in the Dark / Danger Patrol, but I haven't posted it because I was concerned it might impinge on John Harper's work too much.  While DP is under the Creative Commons, BtiD isn't (to my knowledge) and given that it's his most popular game, I didn't want to infringe on his livelihood in any way.

That said, I kind of love how well the BitD classes and feel fit into Danger Patrol. I think DP is actually great for running a heist and with a few tweaks (like adding Heat, factions, and a  way to track resources), it works pretty well and is mechanically much simpler than BitD.

Anyway, good luck with your hack!

Here are two old DP hacks, translated in french

Danger & Dragons: http://www.mediafire.com/view/kn6ayno6vw09zwl/Danger_and_dragons_VF_01.pdf

Legend of Fallenthrone: http://www.sentientgames.com/downloads/lof.pdf

Personnally, i feel like DP is a kind of (even) more cinematic kind of version of Btid. And i'd love to see a  more "complete" (ie: not only fights) version of DP, borrowing from bitd.

regarding your hack, i think you should ask directly to J. Harper.
